I was born and raised in Melrose Park, a west suburb outside of Chicago. As a child I remember always taking in stray animals and wanting to be a veterinarian when I grew up. I developed allergies to fur so I started paying more attention to reptiles which totally grossed out my friends which made it that much more entertaining. Growing up my family would take a couple vacations a year and we would always drive, no flying. So on our trips to Florida, Canada, and Mexico I would always find wild critters along the way, trying to catch them and even bringing some home as I didnt know any better at that time. I was always the kid at zoos and animal parks that would volunteer ecstatically to have a picture with the snake or alligator and would mope if I did not get picked. At home there were always lots of frogs and snakes for me to chase. The wild snakes would always bite me but I didnt care. Although I did well in school I knew there was no way I would handle college for 12 years to be a veterinarian. After high school I started one of those crash course medical assistant schools. That lasted about 4 months since I kept blowing it off to be with my boyfriend I moved out when I was 18 and took secretarial jobs and dated a bit. It was a blast. That would not be my life however I finally could get the larger snakes I could never have when I lived at home, so I bought a couple boa constrictors and made friends with another animal nut and started doing childrens animal shows. I moved to Chicago and met some local magicians. I grew up watching Doug Henning and David Copperfield so I this was a lot of fun. My interest in magic grew and I became an assistant, the one that always gets cut in half. Then I performed my first magic trick on Bozos Circus. I took one dove and spit it into two doves. I was so nervous but when the audience applauded I felt I could do this again. I decided to get some professional photos taken of me to pursue modeling and started going to casting calls. Not long after I moved to Las Vegas. What better place to be for an entertainer. Here my snakes became a hit and thus SnakeBabe was born. I have been here 8 years now and my career has blossomed like it never could have in Chicago. As for my website, I started it last year mostly as a promotional tool and to help people with exotic pet care. The response was so overwhelming I decided to add a members area and now its my second full time job. Between my magic, my animals, my modeling, and my website I keep busy. They mean it when they call Las Vegas the entertainment capital of the world. Since arriving in Las Vegas I have accumulated almost 40 animals now. I have been displaying my snakes at Studio 54 at the MGM for almost three years now and you may have seen me with exotic birds on "The Tonight Show," fire eating on E!s "Wild on Sin City" or more recently with my snakes on the "To Tell The Truth" game show, Animal Planets "Secrets of Animal Magic" and performing sexy magic which includes cutting a nude girl in half on "The Jerry Springer Show.". My critters have appeared in many commercials and television shows as well as appearances at Movie Premiere parties such as "The Beach," "Tarzan" and "Committed." One of my favorites was Celine Dions wedding at Caesars Palace. Ill continue to take in unwanted exotic pets and finding new homes for them, that will never change. Im spending more time on the other side of the camera as I love photography and if I could find more free time I think acting would be my next step. Well see what the future holds. |
